» Reclassification

Reclassification shall only be permitted if the supervisor already has on file with the Library Human Resources Office an approved plan for upward movement of his/her student assistant positions, showing significant changes in job duties and responsibilities.

Pay increases based upon reclassifications must be at least to the minimum of the salary range for the new classification.

The Libraries' Assistant Human Resources Manager approves salary increases for reclassification and has responsibility for oversight in maintaining librarywide equity.

» Cost-of-Living Student Pay Increases

Each year, the Associate University Librarian for Administrative Services determines if the Libraries can fund cost-of-living increases for the current fiscal year and, if so, what percentage increase will be funded, up to a maximum of 2%.

All Student Assistants who have been in a job title for one year and who have not received an increase during that one year period, receive the increase. Supervisors do not provide input on whether or not their students receive an increase.

The Library Human Resources Office is responsible for determining the timing of the increase and inputting the data into the payroll system.

» Maximum Fiscal Year Pay Increase

A student's total pay increases in a single fiscal year (including, for example, cost-of-living, promotional and equity increases) shall not exceed 15%.
